...There's No Place Like Home...

Dress - Car-boot, Top - H&M

When James saw me in this outfit, the first thing he said was, I looked like Dorothy from The Wizard Of Oz. Ha! And, yes maybe I do. I found this pinafore dress at a car-boot and loved it. Perfect baby blue colour and the fit was wonderful.

I wore it with my new gypsy top from H&M. A light, airy, summery outfit. Perfect for the Summer work BBQ. Was a lovely afternoon full of food and games. Nice way to end the week.

...2012, What A Year...

Again haven't posted for about a week. Been too caught up with work and the Olympics really. My spare time has been spent watching the highlights and live events. On Friday, as I wasn't working I went up into Hyde Park with the family to watch the 10k swim and soak up the atmosphere. It was fabulous. Bloody hot though. After we saw the swimming, we headed over to the BT Live arena where they had five screens up showing live events throughout the day. Was brilliant.

My experience of that day was one I will remember for years to come. I didn't feel over-crowded or that there was no room to sit or see the events. Travel into London was easy and hassle free. Everyone was friendly and the volunteers were, just, extremely helpful and smiley and happy. It really was a great day and to spend it with my family made it even better. Watching the Olympics has always been a big part of our family, so it seemed silly not take advantage of what has been made available to us in London.

Unfortunately, not without my mum's trying, we could not get hold of any tickets. That disappointing, seeing as they had completely screwed it up. But such is life. I cannot believe that it is now over, and the closing ceremony is tonight, which I will be watching in full.

Walking around London was pretty amazing too. Seeing the monuments, experiencing parts that I hadn't before. One being Hyde Park. Shocking, seeing as I've in London my whole life up until six months ago, ha!

I hope you guys have enjoyed the games as much I have. Plus I just want to point out that the BBC  coverage over the two weeks has been perfect. Engaging and emotional. I've cried and laughed all at the same time. Use of music and presenters and footage has worked really well and I've enjoyed every moment of it. 65 medals! WOW!!!!!!

...Sunday Update #13...

Well here is a proper Sunday update post for you. Haven't posted one of these in a while. Life so far has been pretty good. Nothing much to complain about. Working hard, starting a new course, attempting to set up a life down in Worthing (which is much harder than I originally thought), and getting ready for the rest of my summer (holiday in the sun and a festival).

Here is a collection of some recent purchases in the sales down South. A couple of charity shop finds, dungaree dress/turquoise top, and a few finds in H&M. My favourite being the embroidered, gypsy top. Perfect for these welcoming summer days.

My week off from work has been so relaxing but, as always, I am excited to get back to work and in the swing of things. Have missed my colleagues and the children. Hopefully my first day back won't be too much of a struggle, seeing as I've been used to lazying around this past week. Ha!

...A Sailor's Life for Me...

Top - Charity shop, Jeans - Miss Selfridge, Shoes - Liberty for Nike, Denim Jacket - Charity shop

Sorry for the lack of posting on here, but I have been enjoying my time off from work just hanging out with James, mooching round town and relaxing. Sometimes having a few days off from blogging is good. However, fear not, here I am armed with an array of pictures from yesterday's excursion. A little trip to Portsmouth.

I have never been to Portsmouth and as it's so near to Worthing, only a trains ride away, it seemed like a nice idea. The ships were amazing. You cannot miss them as you come out of the station. They are huge. Luckily the weather was perfect, and a prime opportunity arose for me to take some pictures. Unfortunately everything was slightly too expensive for our budget, but it did not stop us making use of the free museums.

Of course once we had made the most of the exhibitions we head into Gunworth Quays (a ma-hu-sive outlet shopping centre). Here we perused the fancy shops, and I had a little sniff around the Italian market stalls, finally giving into the temptation and buying some yummy Italian treats. By the end of our trip we were completely knackered and ready to make our way home. Such a great day out. Fish and chip lunch, afternoon tea and a little bit of shopping thrown in.

I wore a very simple outfit. Nothing much to write home about. Am feeling less than impressed by my style at the moment. Seem to be stuck. Maybe it's because I'm not feeling too comfortable in myself and how I look at the moment, and what I do to reverse that seems not to be having the desired effect. Oh well!
